“witty, very funny and often poetic.
Megan Bennetts inhabits the titular role with aplomb,
she commands the stage….
a solid, mature piece of work and well worth your time”

First woman in Rome,

Augusta has it all

– except power.

Who can help?

Good old Attila the Hun.

What could possibly go wrong?

Historical, hysterical, heartbreaking comedy

from subtlenuance.

Augusta 1 MB Square 2.jpg

Based on an extraordinary true story,

Augusta is a playful and provocative portrait of power.
Set in Late Antiquity,

as the Roman Empire totters on the edge,

it tells the story of Honoria, sister of the Emperor.
Though born into privilege

and bestowed with the prestigious title of Augusta,

Honoria remains deeply dissatisfied.
As a woman in Rome,

she knows real power can never be hers.
Always preferred will be her stupid, stupid, stupid little brother!
So, she sets in motion the most audacious of plans.
